Register by November 18 and Save!

Early registration concludes this Friday, November 18 for the National Council for Science and the Environment's 6th National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment: Energy for a Sustainable and Secure Future, to be held on January 26-27, 2006 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC.

The conference will serve as a forum for over 800 leaders in environmental science and engineering, policy and government, corporations and civil society, and education to identify opportunities for science and technology to improve the decisions that define our energy future. It will also be an important opportunity for networking across traditional boundaries.

Plenary roundtable discussions will address the following themes:
  • Opportunities for Decisionmaking
  • Opportunities from Science & Technology
  • Building Collaborations for Progress
  • Integrating Climate Change into Energy Decisionmaking
Concurrent symposia will allow participants to delve deeper into the critical issues of:
  • Decisionmaking in the Real World
  • Guiding Research for Impact
  • Assessing Energy Futures
  • Climate Change: Science to Action
18 interactive breakout sessions will enable participants to generate science-based strategies for sustainable and secure energy solutions. Active participation and lively discussion are encouraged in these sessions.  Sessions will cover such topics as Financing Energy Decisions, Community Planning, Business Approaches to Sustainable Energy, Transportation, Education, Setting Research Priorities, and the Future of Energy.

A report containing strategies developed at the conference will be widely publicized and presented to the U.S. Congress, federal, state and local governments, bilateral and multilateral agencies, international governmental and non-governmental organizations, educational and academic institutions, and the general public.

An exhibition will showcase innovative energy programs, publications and technologies, while a poster session will enable participants to share initiatives and research at the interface between energy science, technology and policy.  Take advantage of the opportunity to exhibit, present a poster or sponsor the conference.  Please note: the deadline to submit a poster abstract is December 9.
